It was a sunny Melbourne afternoon when Syndey based folk duo, The Falls, (aka Melinda and Simon) and I first met in a busy Brunswick café. Not only are the two some of the nicest folk I’ve had the pleasure of spending an hour with, but they’re responsible for creating an utterly special kind of music that is wonderful in every sense of the word.
Whilst the pair haven’t been touring their music around Australia for too long, in their time they’ve played alongside many wonderful artists, (i.e. Small Werld fave Passenger, to just name one,) and are set to play the support spot for Australian legend Lior later in the year. Recently stopping by Melbourne whist on tour with Brisbane’s wonderful Charlie Mayfair, Small Werld and The Falls shared a meal and had a chat about the musical journey the pair have walked thus far and where they’re headed to next.
Monday pick-me-up anyone? Get your hands on a copy of The Falls’ debut EP, Hollywood, to experience an emotional journey that will cure the Monday blues and have your heart in no time. Yes.
