Outpost Cafe

Tucked away in the backstreets of South Yarra is another one of Melbourne's hidden specialty coffee gems, Outpost Cafe. The layout of the cafe is one of its most unique and appealing features, with an open kitchen plan that spills outside into a shaded area. The balance of vintage and chic styles in the fit out, which is popular in the Melbourne cafe scene, makes for a cosy and relaxing atmosphere. After a period of uncertainty following the sale and purchase of the cafe over a year ago, Outpost has finally found its feet. Converting to the Axil Coffee Roasters variety of beans, the coffee that is being served up is specialty standard and there is always a single origin on offer. New owner, Lucy, is a master on the machine and pours her passion for coffee into every shot. The food is equally as impressive. The chef is a master in the kitchen and has devised a menu that features delicious breakfast and lunch meals. The very decadent French Toast is a favourite on the breakfast menu, as is the Oyster Mushrooms with Feta and Truffle Oil on sourdough toast. After flying under the radar for over a year now, Outpost Cafe is returning to its former glory and well worth a visit.Outpost-Cafe-Page-2Outpost-Cafe-Page-3Outpost-Cafe-Page-4Outpost-Cafe-Page-5Outpost-Cafe-Page-6Outpost-Cafe-Page-7
